Starting from January 1, 2010, section 322.0261(1)(c) mandates that individuals who have been convicted of or pled nolo-contendere to their third traffic offense resulting in a crash within 36 months must successfully complete a department-approved driver improvement course. This course encompasses behind-the-wheel training and an evaluation of your driving skills.


You will be informed by the department regarding this obligation if you have been involved in a qualifying third at-fault crash that took place on or after January 1, 2010.


To prevent the cancellation of your driver’s license, you must complete the course within 90 days as specified in the notification
